Tea Packaging

We've had some people ask why we use resealable pouches for our tea instead of tins.  There were so many factors that we considered when we made the decision but here are the main reasons:

• Price to consumer.  We want to provide the best quality tea we can at the best prices.  Tins are pretty but they are 10 to 20 times more expensive than pouches.  We would have to pass that additional cost to our customers.
• Waste in landfills.  No packaging is perfect when it comes to this area of consideration.  However, our stand up pouches are much better than tins.  Plus the carbon footprint for shipping the pouches is much less than for shipping the tins, both for us to receive them and if we ship them to our customers. 
• Long-term storage and freshness of the tea.  While tins excel at this aspect, our pouches will still keep your tea fresh for at least six months, if not longer.  Plus, you can always transfer your tea to a tin you already own, if you prefer to store it that way.
• Clear back on pouch.  The clear side of the pouch lets you see the product prior to purchasing.  We felt this was a big positive so that our customers can see the quality in the bag.

So there you have it!  We're always keeping our eye out for better options, but so far this seems to be the best option for us and our customers.
